About the Author
Whitney April Bell is a lawyer and an educator by trade, (she taught Dutch Criminal Law and Procedure for the University of Maastricht in The Netherlands) but a writer and an astrologer at heart. In fact, it was her initial interest in astrology that led her to pursue her more creative talents and develop an animated retelling of the Queen of Sheba. She would describe her writing as imaginary and entertaining. She drew my inspiration for MAKEDA: THE SOUL OF SHEBA from the Bible, the Kebra Negast, and other sacred writings of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
Whitney is a burst of creative energy and storytelling wrapped in one. She loves nothing more than to dive deep into the colorful worlds of her imagination, bringing back stories that dazzle and inspire. Whitney’s journey as an author began from a young age, with her nose almost always buried in books. As she grew, so did her skills and passion for crafting tales that not only entertain but also ignite a love of reading in young minds.
Her latest adventure is “Makeda: The Soul of Sheba,” a children’s book that takes readers on a magical journey filled with courage, adventure, and the discovery of one’s inner strength. To bring her stories even closer to the hearts of her readers, Whitney is currently creating some plush dolls that will accompany her book, offering kids a tangible piece of her vibrant world. Through her work, Whitney aims to kindle imagination, foster a love for reading, and encourage young minds to explore the boundless possibilities within them and the world around them.
